Duties and Responsibilities of Diplomatic Missions
- The UK Diplomatic Missions in Brussels are offering 6-month traineeships for roles in policy, events, and administrative support, as well as a 3-month traineeship in corporate services.
- Trainees will be based at the UK Mission to the EU, the Embassy to Belgium, or the Delegation to NATO.
- Responsibilities include supporting policy work, organizing events, running social media campaigns, and managing business hospitality events at the Ducale Residence.
- No prior experience or university degree is required; the focus is on finding individuals with the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Trainees will receive full support and training throughout their placement, tailored to their interests and career goals.
- The traineeships are set to begin in September 2025, contingent on successful security clearance.

Required Skills
- Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken, minimum of C1 level for CEFR framework*);
- Interest in politics and international relations;
- Personal or professional experience of diversity and its challenges, and interest in creating an inclusive work environment;
- Motivation to learn and develop new skills;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Flexibility to work on different tasks and with different teams;
- Work experience, not necessarily in the international/politics sector. This can include volunteering or community work.
